Deputy Mary Lou McDonald asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform when the refurbishment of the General Post Office, O’Connell Street, Dublin 1 will commence; and the intended use of the refurbished space on completion of the works to be overseen by the Office of Public Works. Amharc ar fhreagraI am informed by my officials that the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications holds the title to the General Post Office and An Post currently occupy the property under licence.
As An Post continue to occupy the building I understand that no decisions have been taken by the Department in relation to its future use or refurbishment plans.
