Ceisteanna (799)

Catherine Connolly

Ceist:

799. Deputy Catherine Connolly asked the Minister for Health his plans for co-operation with other EU member states which have a surplus of radiologists and in which scans can be reported upon efficiently and quickly given the shortage of consultant radiologists in Ireland and the delays caused in diagnosis as a result of the time taken to read scans; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In relation to the particular query raised, as this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
