Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy will appreciate, the operation of pension scheme rules for Commercial Semi-State companies are the responsibility of the relevant Government Department. Based on the circumstances outlined in this particular case, this would appear to be a matter for the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications in the context of that Department's responsibility for the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act 1983, as amended by the Telecommunications (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1996. This legislation governs pensions issues for the eircom superannuation schemes.
Ultimately, the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman is the appropriate body to deal with any specific pension complaints once these have first been subject to the relevant internal dispute resolution procedures.
