Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine further to Parliamentary Question No. 269 of 11 March 2021, the number of the 32 grade three forestry inspectors listed in 2020 who are dealing with forestry licence applications; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There are currently 27 Forestry Inspectors Grade 3 who, amongst their duties, carry out work on licensing of files. This includes work associated with the licencing of forest road applications, afforestation applications and felling applications.
