Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Justice if she will provide the name of the independent company that has been appointed to carry out an independent review of the operations of the voluntary mess committees in Irish prisons; the cost of this review; and the expected completion time of same. Amharc ar fhreagraI can inform the Deputy that the name of the independent company appointed to carry out the independent review of the operations of the voluntary mess committees in Irish Prisons is KOSI Corporation Ltd.
The Department has agreed terms of reference and an upper limit of €98,000 with the company for this work, on the basis that the cost may be less depending on the investigation resource requirements of the review. It is expected the review will be completed by the end of 2021.
