Deputy Gary Gannon asked the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications the details of correspondence with the Department of Foreign Affairs following the hacking of the phone of the Minister, Deputy Coveney, in 2020; if new procedures were initiated for security of Ministerial phones following this hacking; and if so, the details of the updated procedures. The National Cyber Security Centre does not comment on operational matters relating to the security of Government Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The security of the ICT systems of Government Departments is the responsibility of individual Departments.
