Amharc ar fhreagraThe National Trans Frontier Shipments Office (NTFSO) in Dublin City Council is responsible for the enforcement of the Waste Management (Shipments of Waste) Regulations 2007, including the maintenance of registers. Waste holders have a number of legal avenues open to them when disposing of their waste under the Waste Management Act 1996, including through the use of waste brokers and dealers registered with the NTFSO. Enforcement of the Act is a matter for the Environment Protection Agency and the local authorities. The Minister, under Section 60(3) of the Waste Management Act 1996, is precluded from exercising any power or control in relation to the performance, in specific cases, by the Agency or a local authority of their statutory functions under the Act.
