Deputy Rose Conway-Walsh asked the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science the allocation and expenditure each year for Science Foundation Ireland since 2012, in tabular form; the allocation for 2022; if this includes the €72 million for a national grand challenge announced in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. SFI funding for next year will be confirmed once the Revised Estimates Volume 2022 has been published. In the meantime, I can confirm that NRRP funding is included in my Department’s overall NDP ceilings as set out in the recent NDP review.
