Deputy Aodhán Ó Ríordáin asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth if he will consider creating a single central vetting procedure for teachers as an emergency measure to avoid schools and candidates having to repeat the vetting procedure for schools in circumstances in which candidates have already been vetted given the increased pressure on schools in recruiting teachers for substitute posts due to the Covid-19 pandemic; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
