227. Deputy Sean Sherlock asked the Minister for Transport if taxsaver customers will be able to receive a part refund in cases in which their zone is moved into a short hop zone in 2022 (details supplied). [7175/22]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport, nor decisions on fares. It is the National Transport Authority (NTA) that has responsibility for the regulation of fares charged to passengers in respect of public transport services, provided under public service obligation (PSO) contracts.
In light of the Authority's responsibility in this area, I have forwarded the Deputy's specific question in relation to the possibility of a part refund, in cases where a Taxsaver Leapcard zone is moved into a short hop zone in 2022, to the NTA for direct reply.
