909. Deputy Matt Carthy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the amount of horticultural peat imported to the State in tonnes, by year, in each of the years 2016 to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16612/22]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Central Statistics Office collect data on peat imports and exports. The data captured is not so granular as to differentiate peat types i.e. peat for fuel or horticultural peat. The table below details peat imports by year from 2016 to 2021. Import figures for the period 2022 to date are not available yet.
