Deputy Matt Carthy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine further to Parliamentary Question No. 877 of 10 May 2022, if there was an easement of restrictions in relation to the importation of pets during the Covid-19 pandemic with regard to facilitating the return home of Irish citizens; if not, if consideration was or has been given to such at any time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The circumstances created by COVID-19 did not necessitate any change to the rules for the importation of pets into Ireland.

There were no COVID-19 related easing of restrictions in place regarding the importation of pets into Ireland during the Covid-19 pandemic.
