Deputy Noel Grealish asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the amount of interest that his Department has been charged by financial institutions since negative interest rates were introduced by year; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department moved from Bank of Ireland to Danske Bank in August 2018. Three of the bank accounts with Danske Bank are not subject to Negative Credit Interest as shown above. The Bank account for the Commission of Investigation into the Mother and Baby Homes was closed on the 16th July 2021.
