215. Deputy Chris Andrews asked the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications if television service providers are permitted to insist that customers must purchase a subscription to broadband in addition to their television service. [29416/22]
Amharc ar fhreagraProviding electronic communication services, is a matter for the relevant service providers operating in a fully liberalised market, regulated by the Commission for Communication Regulation (ComReg), as independent regulator.While I have no function or statutory authority to influence the prices set, or packages offered by providers of electronic communications services, including television subscriptions services, I would welcome further information from the Deputy as to the specific circumstances that gave rise to his asking the question.
