273. Deputy Marian Harkin asked the Minister for Transport the reason that bus route 30/X30 from Dublin Airport to Donegal was cancelled on 31 May with no notification given to waiting passengers arriving into Dublin Airport on late evening and night flights; the reason that the routes from Donegal to Dublin were also cancelled, particularly in view of the recent campaign for persons to use public transport; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.

Further, Bus Éireann's Expressway services, including routes 30 and X30, are commercial bus services and as such responsibility for the operation of those services is a matter for the company. I have, therefore, referred the Deputy's question to Bus Éireann for direct reply. Please advise my private office if a reply is not received within ten working days.
