Deputy Matt Carthy asked the Minister for Transport if his attention has been drawn to the fact that Bus Éireann users in County Monaghan have no alternative to booking bus tickets online; his plans to provide for alternative bus ticket booking arrangements such as over the phone for those who may be unable to use IT; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraAs Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. However, I am not involved in the day-to-day operation of public transport services.
The query raised regarding bus ticket booking is an operational matter for Bus Éireann. Accordingly, I have referred the Deputy's question to the company for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
