603. Deputy David Cullinane asked the Minister for Health if any hospital has been fined for breaching the European working time directive in respect of non-consultant hospital doctors; if so, the year and the hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [35324/22]

As this is a service matter I have asked the HSE to reply directly to the Deputy with the information sought. I am aware that the HSE put in place an internal system that involved financial penalties for certain hospitals to support the attainment of compliance.
