Deputy Réada Cronin asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the number of children currently without a designated social worker in each age group and social work area in each year of the past five years by area and age group in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I wish to advise the Deputy that statutory and operational responsibility for the delivery of child protection and welfare services is a matter for Tusla, the Child and Family Agency.

I can confirm that the matter has been referred to Tusla, for direct reply to the Deputy.
