321. Deputy Steven Matthews asked the Minister for Finance if he will examine the VAT rate associated with the purchase and repair of bicycles, cargo bikes and e-bikes; if he will consider reducing the rate to the lowest possible level under European Union guidelines; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy will be aware, it is a longstanding practice that the Minister for Finance does not  comment, in advance of the Budget, on any tax matters that might be the subject of Budget decisions.
