469. Deputy Noel Grealish asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform if the pay increases under the public sector pay deal will be extended to the pensions of retired public servants; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [43957/22]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy will be aware, the negotiations on the new public sector pay agreement concluded recently with union representatives on the 30th of August. Unions are advising their members on the conditions of the pay agreement over the coming weeks.
My officials are continuing to work on the proposed implementation of the agreement. The area of pension increase policy is currently been considered. Circulars will be issued on the position of pension increases for retired public servants once the agreement is ratified by both parties.
