Deputy Fergus O'Dowd asked the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media further to the letter submitted to the chief executive in June 2022, if Louth County Council has proposed Drogheda as a suitable location for the new night-time economy pilot programme (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe City and County and Management Association, with support from my Department, is leading on the process to select the pilot towns and cities for the Local Authority Night-Time Economy Pilot Programme in line with Action 19 of the NTE Taskforce Report (published September 2021).
The application process closed at the end of June and I understand applications will be reviewed in the coming weeks and an announcement will be made thereafter. It would not be appropriate for me to comment on any particular application given the review process is ongoing.
