In accordance with the provisions of the Broadcasting Act 2009, RTÉ is fully independent in the pursuit of its public service objects, including its day-to-day operations.
The issue of staffing numbers in the Archiving Department is an operational matter for RTÉ. As such, as Minister I have no role in RTÉ’s day-to-day activities, including those related to staffing and assignments, and my Department does not hold the information sought by the Deputy.
