401. Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth if he will provide a breakdown of the number of persons who have died either in the care of the State, including State aftercare, or while known to child protection services, by cause of death in each of the past ten years and to date in 2022. The Deputy is seeking information in relation to the number of persons who have died in the care of the State or while known to child protection services. As this relates to operational matters for Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, I have referred the matter to Tusla, and asked that a direct response be provided to the Deputy.
