67. Deputy Darren O'Rourke asked the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications the average cost of bringing a home to a BER of B2 under the better energy warmer homes scheme in 2022, inclusive of VAT. [48842/22]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Better Energy Warmer Homes Scheme delivers free energy upgrades for eligible homeowners in low-income households who are most at risk of energy poverty. It is administered by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). Since the start of the scheme in 2000, over 145,000 free upgrades have been supported by the scheme.Latest data provided to my Department by the SEAI indicates that, for homes which have achieved a post works Building Energy Rating of B2 (or better) in 2022 through the Better Energy Warmer Homes Scheme, the average cost is €24,914 (incl. VAT).
