Deputy Duncan Smith asked the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications when the deposit return scheme for plastic bottles and aluminium cans, for which the regulations were signed in November 2021 to achieve the separate collection targets for plastic bottles in Directive (EU) 2019/904 of the European Parliament and of the European Council of 5 June 2019, will come into operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
