Deputy Marc MacSharry asked the Minister for Social Protection if she will address the anomaly whereby a person (details supplied) who is in receipt of a State pension and who fulfils the means criteria for receipt of the fuel allowance is ineligible for the allowance if they are residing with a pensioner who is not in receipt of a qualifying payment from the Department, but are in receipt of an occupational pension from another Government body; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
