193. Deputy Paul Murphy asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his attention has been drawn the fact that two US military personnel from US Cyber Command or other cyber operations have been operating in Ireland over the past five years (details supplied). [57142/22]
Amharc ar fhreagraThere are international and domestic procedures for authorising the arrival of military personnel from another State to operate in or be based in Ireland. For instance, in line with Article 7 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations 1961, prior approval by the Irish State is required for the appointment of military, naval or air attachés to a diplomatic mission resident in Ireland. Ireland has not received any requests in respect of personnel from US Cyber Command to operate in or be based in Ireland.
