Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the amount spent by his Department on online advertising in each of the past ten years and to date in 2023, in tabular form; if he will provide details in relation to this spending; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine provides public information about the Department's wide range of schemes, services and policies. Online advertising is one of the channels used to communicate this information.

Outlined below in a table is a breakdown of expenditure on online advertising, including on social media, by year for the period requested. This includes expenditure related to farm safety awareness campaigns in 2021 and 2022 and an information campaign in 2022 regarding the new Unfair Trading Practices in the Agricultural and Food Supply Chain Regulations.
