Abbotstown House is a protected structure located at the Sport Ireland National Sports Campus and is owned by Sport Ireland.

Last November, the Government approved a new Masterplan for the development of the Sport Ireland Campus. The Masterplan, which is published on Sport Ireland’s website www.sportireland.ie, provides a framework for the further development of the campus over the next 15 to 20 years and identifies the next key high-level projects for development.

The restoration of Abbotstown House, which is currently derelict, is an important element of the overall masterplan. It is intended that Abbotstown House will be restored and re-purposed as additional high-quality athlete accommodation and meeting facilities.

The proposed development of athlete accommodation, including the refurbishment of Abbotstown House, is subject to the relevant approvals in the Public Spending Code and the availability of capital funding and Minister Martin and I will be engaging with Government colleagues in this regard.
