171. Deputy Matt Carthy asked the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications the number of communications staff currently employed in his Department; the cost of these staff for 2022; the expected cost for 2023; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8702/23]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe number of communications staff currently employed in my Department is 12. This is due to increase to 17 by the end of 2023.In 2022, the total cost of communications staff was €469,592. The full year cost for the sanctioned staff in 2023 is €782,447, although the actual cost will be less than this due to the time required to identify suitable candidates to fill roles.
These figures include the salary cost of the Press Advisor to the Minister.
