Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Rural and Community Development the progress made with Galway County Council in relation to the transfer of the land, on which the airstrip in Inishbofin is built, to her Department; the reason for the hold up with this; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraI understand that Galway County Council had to address the registration of ownership and boundary matters in order to progress the transfer of the land in question on Inishbofin. I understand that a final survey is to be completed in the coming weeks, after which the Local Authority must give formal approval to transfer the land to my Department.
