Catherine Connolly

Ceist:

593. Deputy Catherine Connolly asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth if there are any plans to extend eligibility for the daily expenses allowance or an equivalent payment to international protection applicants living outside of designated IPAS centres, including those in the private rental market; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A payment equivalent to the Daily Expenses Allowance is currently being given to international protection applicants whom IPAS is unable to accommodate temporarily.  My Department is currently examining whether or not the Daily Expenses Allowance could be given to applicants living outside of designated IPAS centres.
