186. Deputy Robert Troy asked the Minister for Transport his views on the fact no new taxi plates are being issued despite figures from his Department that indicate 131 new licences issued per month from September 2022 to March 2023. [30297/23]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe regulation of the small public service vehicle (SPSV) industry, including SPSV licensing, is a matter for the independent transport regulator, the National Transport Authority (NTA), under the provisions of the Taxi Regulation Acts 2013 and 2016. I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of the SPSV industry and accordingly, I have referred your question to the NTA for direct reply to you.
