87. Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform the number of instances in which his Department used unlicensed software and/or lapsed licenced software in the past ten years to date; the associated expenditure on same to remedy the situation; and the software that was used. I would like to thank the Deputy for her question and inform her that the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, the division within my Department with responsibility for providing IT services to the Department, has confirmed that they have had no instances in the last ten years where they used unlicensed software and/or lapsed licenced software.
