1290. Deputy Alan Kelly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will provide the necessary funding to purchase additional food detection dogs to be deployed at airports, ports, etc., as currently there is only one food detection dog nationwide. [38081/23]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine continuously reviews its various arrangements regarding import control checks, of which the use of food detector dogs is only one part. Extensive manual checks and scanning equipment are also used at ports and airports to monitor for illegal imports of food products.
