434. Deputy Fergus O'Dowd asked the Minister for Finance further to Parliamentary Question No. 297 of 25 July 2023, in respect of the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland, if he will seek clarity on the “bonus” payment of €30,000; to provide a breakdown of the professional subscriptions indicated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland have confirmed to the Department of Finance that the bonus payment of €30,000 to the Chief Executive Officer represents a discretionary performance related payment approved by the SBCI Board. 

The professional subscriptions indicated were memberships of the Institute of Bankers and of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
