Deputy Colm Burke asked the Minister for Education the current status of an application for emergency works (details supplied); when a decision is likely to be made in this case, in view of the fact that these facilities are urgently required as the leaks are deteriorating; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraI wish to advise that the application referred to has been examined by our Professional & Technical team and they have advised that Emergency Works will fund repair works to the leaks only as an interim measure until a permanent solution can be determined under the Summer Works Scheme.
The school have been advised to scale back the scope of works and to have a leak detection test carried out to identify the locations of the leaks so as, these can be repaired to the existing flat roof.
