415. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Justice if Ukrainians can work longer than 20 hours if the work is being offered to them, as it would benefit businesses who are struggling to find staff; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [41245/23]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe EU Temporary Protection Directive (2001/55/EC) has been activated in response to the Ukraine crisis. Ireland participates in this measure, which is given legal effect under Section 60 of the International Protection Act 2015. Those eligible for Temporary Protection (granted initially for one year, but renewable) have immediate access to the labour market, on a full time basis and without the need for a work permit.
