74. Deputy Holly Cairns asked the Minister for Transport to provide details of the bus fleet serving the 226 Kinsale to Cork route, including the number of single and double-decker buses; the age of each vehicle and the number of drivers assigned to the route. [42920/23]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has responsibility for the planning and development of public transport infrastructure, including the provision of the national Public Service Obligation bus fleet.
The issue raised in relation to details of the bus fleet serving the 226 Kinsale/Cork route is a matter for Bus Éireann in conjunction with the NTA and I have forwarded the Deputies' question to the company for a direct reply.
Noting the NTA's responsibility in the matter, I also have referred the Deputies' questions to the NTA. Please contact my private office if you do not receive a reply within 10 days.
