Deputy Eoin Ó Broin asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage the total number of exits from homelessness accommodation funded by his Department in each quarter from 2019 to Q3 2023 including a breakdown by local authority area and by single persons and families with children, in tabular form. Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department’s role in relation to homelessness involves the provision of a national framework of policy, legislation and funding to underpin the role of local authorities in addressing homelessness at local level. While responsibility for the provision of accommodation for homeless persons rests with individual housing authorities, the administration of homeless services is organised on a regional basis.
My Department publishes a detailed quarterly performance report on homelessness, based on data provided by regional lead local authorities. The report includes details of individuals exiting State-funded emergency accommodation arrangements that are overseen by local authorities and is provided on a regional basis.
