51. Deputy Patricia Ryan asked the Minister for Transport if he will detail the criteria required to qualify for a taxi licence; if any different criteria apply to national and non-national applicants; and if so, what those differences are and the reasons behind them. [54014/23]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe regulation of the small public service vehicle (SPSV) industry, including setting the criteria for obtaining a taxi licence, is a matter for the independent transport regulator, the National Transport Authority (NTA). In addition, the NTA is responsible for the collection and publication of statistics relating to SPSV licensing. I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of the SPSV industry.
