Deputy Sorca Clarke asked the Minister for Education the number of requests for a meeting made to her Department by an organisation (details supplied), by year, in 2021, 2022, 2023 and to date in 2024; and how many meetings have taken place, in tabular form, per year, for the same period. Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department undertakes a significant amount of consultation across a range of policy and operational areas on a wide array of issues on an ongoing basis. This underlines the collaborative approach to addressing challenges and developing policy in the education sector.
The organisation referred to by the Deputy is a key member of the Special Educational Needs Forum which meets on a periodic basis to discuss developments in the area of special education.
I can confirm that my department will carry out thorough searches to establish what contact was received from this organisation and if meetings were held and officials will revert directly to the Deputy with a complete response in due course.
