200. Deputy Eoin Ó Broin asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage if it is the Government's intention to seek representatives of his Department and/or the Department of Finance on the LDA board or whether the new board positions will be advertised via the PAS. [6820/24]
Amharc ar fhreagraGovernance of the Land Development Agency (LDA) is overseen by its Board, which sets the strategic objectives of the Agency and also informs strategic decisions on all key business issues. All Board members are appointed by the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform. It is my intention to appoint new members to the board of the LDA in the coming year. I have asked my Department to ensure that the board has the skills and experience necessary to provide effective oversight of the activities of the Agency. The process to recruit new board members will be overseen by the Public Appointments Service.
Furthermore, as part of the recent Cabinet decision with respect to the future funding of the Land Development Agency, it was agreed that a Ministerial representative would be added to the Board of the LDA.
