495. Deputy Alan Dillon asked the Minister for Education to provide an update on the progress of an ASD unit for a school (details supplied); and if the classroom will be operational for the 2024-2025 academic year. [12654/24]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe school to which the Deputy refers was approved a project under my Department’s Additional School Accommodation (ASA) scheme to provide a 2 classroom SEN base, 5 general classrooms, 1 science lab/prep area, 1 art room and art store. The project has been devolved to the school authority for delivery and it has appointed a design team. My Department has received the Stage 1 architectural report and this is currently under review by my Department's Professional and Technical staff. Once the review is complete, the outcome will be communicated to the school authority in due course.
