Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform the total number of copper communication lines within his Department that are currently in active operation and for which his Department is paying for on a monthly basis, inclusive of ISDN, PTSN and copper-based lease lines; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe Data and Telephony, which is voice over IP (VOIP), communication lines for the Department of Public Expenditure, National Development Delivery Plan and Reform are fibre optic communication lines. There are a number of copper communication lines within my Department for facility related services, these facility services are provided by the Department of Finance as a shared arrangement and the Department of Finance are responsible for the monthly payments for these lines.
