The information requested is being compiled and will be provided to the Deputy in accordance with Standing Orders.

The following deferred reply was received under Standing Order 51.
My Department undertakes public information campaigns to bring important information to the public’s attention. Advertisements in print media - both national and regional - frequently form part of these campaigns. For example, already this year, ads in the print media were included as part of our public information campaign in Limerick to inform people about the new role of directly elected mayor.
Overall figures for advertising expenditure in the print media and the newspaper titles where ads have been placed from 2019 to date are provided in the table attached.
The figures include money spent on election awareness campaign, recruitment and public consultation ads, and incorporate the advertising spends of Met Éireann and our National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS).
My Department has engaged media buying companies to advise on national, regional and local spread across print outlets as appropriate.
