To ask the Minister for Local Government if his attention has been called to the case of Denis Ward, Main Street, Croom, who applied for a Blind Persons' Pension in May last, but who has been refused notwithstanding that he forwarded two medical certificates, from two separate doctors, stating that he was unable to earn a living owing to being almost blind, that the Croom Sub-Committee granted the application on the 31st August, and will he say on what grounds the claim has been refused.

In this case the claim of the applicant could not be sustained because the medical certificates as submitted were not sufficient evidence of blindness to enable a pension to be granted under the Blind Persons' Act.
