Vol. 2 No. 40

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ ORAL ANSWERS. ] - PRICE OF EDUCATION REPORT.

To ask the Minister for Finance if he can say why such a high price (seven shillings) is being charged for the Report of the Intermediate Education Board on the application of the Teachers' Salaries Grant for 1921-22 (a booklet of some 32 pages), in view of the fact that the price of the Report for 1920-21 was one shilling and sixpence; for 1919-20, sixpence, and for 1918-19 and preceding years, three-pence.

The selling price of this Report is based on the cost of production and the agent's commission on sale.

The prices quoted by the Deputy were fixed on a basis which bore no relation to the cost of production, and which involved a heavy charge on Stationery Office Vote.

Would it be possible to have the matter investigated by the Food Prices Commission?

I would be very glad if they took it up.
