Vol. 6 No. 20

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PAYMENT OF INSURANCE BENEFITS.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will give instructions to the Inspectors of the National Health Insurance Department to see that prompt payment of benefits are made to insured persons under this Act, as there are general complaints from many parts of the country of delays in paying same.

Approved Societies are required by the National Health Insurance Commission to deal promptly with applications for benefits, and every case in which complaint of nonpayment of benefit is made to the Commission, is promptly investigated either by correspondence or by a personal visit of a member of the Outdoor Staff.
