Vol. 6 No. 20

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - EDENDERRY AND TRIM R.D.C. ACCOUNTS.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state if the accounts of the amalgamated Edenderry No. 3 and Trim Rural District Councils have been audited, and, if so, if notification of the audit was published in the Press of the above area; further, if he is aware that in the year following the amalgamation of these Council areas the rates increased from 3s. to 8s. 6½d. in the pound, and if statements will be published showing how the sum of £6,665 collected in 1921-22 was expended, and also showing the particulars of expenditure in the case of each District Council in the year prior to amalgamation.

The accounts of the Trim Rural District Council were audited for the half-year ended 31st March, 1921. Arrangements have been made for the audit of subsequent periods, and in the meantime, I am making inquiries into the other questions raised by the Deputy. I will inform him of the result as soon as possible.
